Hey guys and gals, just thought I would waffle on a little about what's been going on lately. I've just landed from the most epic trip - the notoriously sleep-depriving 8 day Bangkok-Sydney trip. It was okay, the crew were the most fun I've operated with in a long time, and first class loads we dead which was surprising considering it was school holidays in Sydney. The only time I operated the cabin with more than 2 people was on the full Sydney to Bangkok leg. Also had Gok Wan on my flight, who has to be the coolest gaysian ever...![]() He slept for much of the flight, and drank heaps of water like any good flyer should, but the best part was he brought his own Paul Smith PJ's! I mean our F/C pyjamas are quite comfy, but his definately added a bit of fashion to the flight! If I wasn't stuck flying Economy as a passenger I'd wear some PJ's as well. On an 11hr Perth flight you definately need them :-D Next up for me is a layover in my home town of Perth, which will do wonders for my spirits as I don't intend on taking leave there until November. Just a nice hug and a dinner with my dad, that's all I need. Plus I'll get to do some grocery shopping at Woolworths and stock up on my silly neccessities, such as skincare and haircare (esp Morrocan Oil, which everyone who washes their hair with desalinated water needs to have in their bathroom) and nail polish and what not. Speaking of nail polish, and this is one for the girls, my friend Alle (who also gave me the Formspring idea) just put up the ultimate blog post on nails, which for all you current and apsiring Flight Attendants is a necessity. ![]() I'm actually relieved that there's someone that also advocates the minimal use (read - NONE WHATSOEVER) use of nail clippers, but there are methods on here which I haven't heard of before which I am going to try from now on, like initially polishing the tips and the undersides and letting it dry before painting the entire nail for extra reinforcement. I can't get the NutraNail stuff she recommends until my next US flight, but if you're in Oz I definately recommend the DrLewinn's strenthening and top polish products, as this was recommended to me by a few QantasLink hosties who's made the change over to my airline. If you can't get either of those brands where you are then I suggest the Sally Hansen range - that's what I was using before the switch to DrLewinn's. Meanwhile, keep all the Formspring questions coming! I'm currently onto 151 questions, and counting! Images from here and here. Labels: Layovers, Random Thoughts, Work 1 comments |
